  • Goedendag has a distinct fruity character (banana), subtly interwoven with floral, citrus-hoppy flavours. The noble hop adds both the floral and citrus character ans a soft pleasant bitterness. The higher carbon dioxide content makes for its dry and fresh character. The aftertaste is noble, dry beer with a smooth bitterness that does not linger.

History of brewery Toye


The story begins with the planting of some hops in his parents' garden of the current brewer. Brewing was not yet there, because initially it was to do it just for the decorative nature of the hop plant.Soon, however, the idea grew to brew beer once an experiment with these hops. In 1998 the first beer brewed in a primitive system. The first brew 10 liters of beer was a pale ale type. It is further experimented and be followed by other beers.However, starting in 2002 with a beer from the heavy blonde type. This was 700 years after the Battle of the Spurs which was fought in Kortrijk. A first version of the Goedendag was born ... and many would follow. The recipe was always put more on point.

Further progress
Through his studies came when homebrewer, visit the Laboratory of Malting and Brewing KULeuven. Here he applied research on various aspects of beer, and also had an advisory role in the brewing industry. During this period he has already started to collect 2nd hand material, for who knows, someday to start a brewery.

Construction of the brewery
Finally in 2009 the "first read down 'and started with the construction of the brewing kettles and installation. All the material that was collected in previous years as a puzzle together and literally fused into a new brewing plant. Often these pieces had already had a history of other breweries.
