In the scent are powerful aromas of vanilla, dried dark fruit and are immediately noticeable. This batch is characterized by the very long maturation in red wine barriques. During this time, the beer has become very rounded and soft, with the bitterness greatly reduced. When the beer warms up, smells of dried dates, figs, dried red fruit, raisins and walnuts become perceptible. The tannins from the wood come out more in the taste.
La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 46 has matured for 3 years in red wine barrels from the French Gaillac region. This region is a very old AOC area, known for its strong red wines.
