A DREAM COME TRUE
Love of the profession above all
Always passionate about the world of beer, creating my brewery was a dream. Since 2002, surrounded by an ever stronger team, my dream has come true and has continued to grow. Today, at Brasserie Grain d’Orge, we brew authentic beers with character. Thanks to our control of the entire production chain and the selection of quality ingredients, we produce 5,000 hectoliters per year while remaining a business on a human and family scale.

Historical

  • OPENING OF THE CAFÉ: LE GRAIN D’ BARLEY 1997

On June 13, 1997, Benoit, former brewer at Piron in Aubel, took over his village café with a future project: to brew his own beer there.

  • CONSTRUCTION OF THE FIRST BREWERY 2000

Demolition of the café annex and reconstruction. Installation of brewing equipment and layout of brewery premises.

  • FIRST BREW 2002

In January 2002, the first commercial must was subjected to the voracious appetite of the yeasts. Thus were born the 3 Schteng the Brice and the Joup.
Annual production: 30 hectoliters.

  • INCREASE IN PRODUCTION 2007

Production reached its maximum in the existing Center 16 premises: 700 hectoliters were produced in 2007.

  • MOVING THE BREWERY 2008

The brewery is moved 500m from the café to its current location, on Benoit's family farm. The café is taken over by his nephew. It becomes the Grain d’Orge Pub.

  • NEW FERMENTERS 2012

Purchase of fermenters to double the production capacity of the brewery and increase it to a production of 1650 hectoliters per year.

  • NEW PREMISES AND NEW DRAWING ROOM 2015

Construction of additional premises and installation of new, more efficient filling equipment (3000 bottles/hour).

  • ACQUISITION OF A NEW BREWING ROOM 2017

The brewing room is transformed and accommodates more efficient equipment. This latest acquisition allows us to reach a production of 5,400 hectoliters per year in 2019.

  • 20TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE BREWERY 2022

On this occasion, the Brasserie Grain d'Orge organized a concert with YKONS and a tasting tour.
