Bert Gunst
ENTREPRENEUR | POLITICIAN
Bert Gunst grew up in the West Flemish coastal town of Nieuwpoort.
After technical training, Bert became a Physical Education teacher. The son of enterprising parents, he started his first company at the age of 25.

The years 2003 to 2008 were mainly focused on the purchase and sale of real estate. Bert does not let go of the theme of the First World War, in 2008 the time has come to work it out. This was accompanied by product development and stories. In 2012, Hendrik Geeraert and Karel Cogge are marketed as two regional beers.

Local engagement resulted in an alderman's office for tourism in October 2012. Bert launches a themed pub The Newport Times in Nieuwpoortse Langestraat 64. Paté based on Geeraert beer sees the light of day in 2014.
In 2016 and 2018, Bert brought 3 actors from the world-famous series Allo Allo to Nieuwpoort to commemorate the liberation of the city in 1944.
Retro seaside posters were launched in June 2018 to reduce poverty in the city. 8 beautiful posters and postcards were designed for the resident and visitor.
In October 2018, Bert was elected 1st alderman for the city of Nieuwpoort with the competences Sports, Youth, Education, Petting Zoo, Allotments and Animal Welfare.
