History

René, the grandfather-in-law of our brewer Koenraad, regularly played cards with his brother Omer. "To play cards you have to be with four" I can already hear you say, which is why their wives - coincidentally also two sisters - were always present.

Omer has been drinking his well-known name beer while playing cards and René was forced to drink the same beer under lightly playful coercion. When Koenraad decided to develop his own artisanal beer together with father-in-law Patrick, he wanted to give René the pleasure of also having a name beer, and so it happened.

René was born and from then on the brothers could each drink their own beer during the card game.

Who is Rene?
Beer company René was founded in 2015 and consists of four passionate friends: Koenraad Lerminiaux, Christophe Cieters, Timothy Van Ysendyck and Wouter De Bruycker.

The four stars at the bottom of the beer label symbolize this company.
